"At the time it would have been. Now there is only pain if someone tries to harm it. Even something as simple as pulling removing a string can wound me badly."
Turning to the pipa, he reached out to guide it to his hands. Holding it close, his fingers touched the strings lightly. There was no sound just yet since he hadn't played but it was clear he knew how.
Kexing has nothing so valuable. Only a key to an Armory everyone wants. But it wouldn't harm him physically or spiritually if someone had it or harmed it. It wasn't a part of him like this pipa was of Qianxun.
"Why tell me?"
Not that he didn't appreciate having his friend's trust.
"If I couldn't trust you then you would have already exposed my headaches and the possible reason for them to others to potentially use against me."
Kexing had shown his worth so he could trust him with this secret. Of that he was certain. There were very few around that he could trust that far but Kexing was on that last.
"It doesn't benefit me or mine to do so." Not to mention, since Qianxun was a resident of the Manor that he, too, fell under the 'me and mine' category. "I have no causes to betray your trust," he added more seriously. "It is valuable to me that my friends know they can trust me."
"I have not even told the Dragon King what you have told me yet. Of your suspicions about my memory." Not because he didn't trust him, he did. Begrudgingly. But he simply wasn't ready to just yet. He needed time to try to determine what it would mean for him to have had his memories removed like that.
And there was not Immortal of Fate here to consult.
"I have not been able to understand why I would have taken the tea. Why there would be a reason for me to lose my memories." Qianxun shook his head and then waved his hand. Speaking of tea, he summoned some now. Nice and hot. He waved for Kexing to have one of the cups.
